Douglas RNLI lifeboat was launched again today (5 March) at 5.50pm when a fishing vessel reported an electrical failure.
The Douglas all weather lifeboat, Sir William Hillary, under the command of volunteer coxswain Neal Corran once again went to the aid of the 9m fishing vessel which had been towed in earlier in the day.
The crew of the fishing vessel had made good the mechanical issues suffered earlier in the day and had left Douglas making for Holyhead when in virtually the same place as this morning’s incident the boat’s alternator failed leaving the vessel without power..
The fishing vessel was taken under tow back to Douglas and berthed at the Battery Pier where Douglas Coastguard were waiting to assist. The lifeboat then returned to station where it was re-housed and made ready again for service by 9.10pm
