With an ever increasing number of charities looking for funding from the public it is comforting to know the RNLI still ranks as one of the most respected among them. Carrying out a relatively low profile collection in Douglas Town Centre last Saturday (25 June) despite there being three other charities also there with store based campaigns the generous people of the Isle of Man put nearly £600 into our buckets.
Perhaps the best part though, as well as the compliments that were passed about the great job the RNLI does, was the number of people who took the time not only to donate but tell with some pride that their brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncles, or other relation served on an Island lifeboat.
Thank you Isle of Man.
